This is where you can keep track of all your favorite Oklahoma Southern Style Drum Groups. For those Drum Groups that are willing to share their information here on the Pow-Wow Oklahoma! website, your listening public can easily match the names to the faces when they attend an Oklahoma Pow-Wow. For those that aren't aware, the Singers and the Drum are the heartbeat of any Pow-Wow. Without these two simple elements, it would be hard pressed to call any relative event a true Pow-Wow. Most of the Southern Drum Groups are well established throughout Oklahoma and the Nation, so they don't really need any extra introduction to those on the Pow-Wow trail; but we will do our part to help them out with some additional exposure. While some weekend "pick-up" Drum Groups help add variety to any Pow-Wow, this section is only designed to help promote well established Drum Groups that sing together frequently or exclusively. Please understand and respect this decision "before" you send in your Drum Group's bio information. The following information will need to be emailed to the "Webmaster" by the drum group's Creator or Lead Singer. Everything listed below is of course "optional".

Biography: First and foremost we would like to thank our lord and saviour, Jesus Christ for the gift of music. Ottertrail was formed in 1992 in the northeast by Alexander Santos Sr. who now resides in Ardmore, OK. The original members were Al, Will Mosley, Matt Harmon, Urie Ridgeway, Benjamin Roldan, Mark Hicks, Steve Perez, and Harry J. Gould. This intertribal southern style powwow singing group eventually grew to include many singers from many areas of the U.S. They now call SW Oklahoma their home. They received their name from a suggestion given to them by the late Johnny Hughes. That name was to symbolize some aspect of southern style plains culture. The name Ottertrail was born and it indeed represents a very important item of clothing worn by the southern straight dancer, the otter drag or trail. They have been invited to participate as Host Drum at many gatherings as well as entering many drum contests all across powwow country. Along the way they have garnished many winnings and most importantly, many friendships. They were recipients of a NAMA (Native American Music Awards) nomination in 1997 for their "Family Songs, Southern Style" album and a 1998 award for a compialation c.d. entitled "Various Drums at Gathering of Nations" under the S.O.A.R. label. They have been nominated by the GRAMMY Awards for "Best Producer of the Year" as well. Their last recording is entitled "Brotherhood" released in 2008. Al Santos has also been featured on many recordings as guest artist for "Brule", The motion picture theme song for Tom Cruise's "Mission Impossible" just to name a few. We want to thank to the powwow committee's and individuals who have supported us throughout all the years.
